CAA Meetings & Lectures

The CAA speaker meetings are held in the Sackler Lecture Theatre (capacity 180) in the Hoyle Building at the Institute of Astronomy, Madingley Road, Cambridge. Dorrs open at 7.30 pm allowing time for members to choose library books or to chat. The talks start promptly at 8 pm. For security reasons the front entrance to the Hoyle Building is also locked at 8 pm. Unfortunately, If you arrive late, we are unable to hear your frantic tapping on the outside doors, but don't despair, someone usually comes down at about 8.10ish to turn on the tea urn and will be able to let you in.

The lecture last for an hour followed by questions, then refreshments are available and another opportunity to view the library books. The speaker will often stay for a coffee and be ready to answer any further questions.

We also do star parties, visits to places of interest and other events
